Summary: Stalwart continental food place

Don't Miss: All continental dishes, deserts
Food Cost: 50-100
Description:
Cafe Churchill has long been an institution for continental food in Bombay. It has survived multiple rumours of management changes, shutting down, diversification, etc. It still stands strong.
They have very good continental food. Period. Goulash, Stews, Pasta. All very good. Priced reasonably at 125-175.
Excellent deserts. Everyone is however cribbing about the rapidly and continuously diminishing cake slices.
Absolutely !

Crappy service at the Cafe Churchill
Yesterday I took mom to churchill cafe and you know what? They were very rude. I had been there previously with my australian boyfriend and thought it was alright. So I took my mom there. We were the first ppl in there and the guy that sits at the desk ( I started towards the place where I had previously sat )shouted, "Not there! Don't sit there!" Startled, I turned to him and he shouted 'tThere, sit there!' gesticulating towards the table right at the back near the kitchen door. And then they took about 15 mins to come take our order. After that, the waiter only brought my (he forgot mom's!). When he served mine he's like "You want two plates for that?" and I said, "No she's ordered the lamb navarin". Then his eyes widened and he went to get it. Then this french couple came in and said "Can we sit here?" (pointing to the place my mom and I had walked towards" and the guy at the desk said "ofcourse" laughing. All I wanted to stick my knife up his ass. The the lamb wasn't very good (not cooked properly) and the prawns didn't seem fresh. Overall they were short and rude with us but joked and laughed with the westerners. I'm never going there again. My mom's like "Leave it, things like this you should brush off as you would an insect" (yea except I want to crush them like an insect HAHAHA Oh and BTW we were charget Rs 210 per dish (prawn shashlik and lamb navarin) which I personally didn't think were worth even half that amount.
